We spent the day in Adelaide with Rafe. We planned to go up to the hills - which were really nice, cooler and familiar countryside to the UK - to have a drive around and maybe have a quick drink with Rafe's mate Mike and his girlfriend Kristen. Turning up with a box of goon we soon settled in and quickly realised another trip to the bottle shop was needed before we couldn't drive! A bottle of gin was compulsory, and we ended up staying in the hills for the night - unexpected but a fun night! The next day we were all feeling a bit special, and headed back to Rafe's for a shower before heading to the airport. Our first flight to Sydney went smoothly, and hangover munchies were satisfied with yet more airport junk food! Our next flight to Cairns was late leaving, and due to flooding, had to make two attempts at landing! Luckily our hostel agreed to come and pick us up as it was tipping it down with rain! We are now back into the humidity! The hostel had messed up the booking slightly, and didn't have the dorm beds we requested, and all they could offer was a twin room - only problem being that it floods in the rain and we were in the midst of a tropical storm! They offered us a good price, so armed with towels and chairs to keep our stuff of the floor, we set up barricades and settled in!
