On our first full day in Sydney we met up with Karen, who we met in Africa, and she took us up to the Blue Mountains. Our first stop was the Three Sisters, three (apparently) very impressive columns of rock. We arrived in Byron Bay mid afternoon, just in time to catch the shuttle to our hostel as it drove past us on the main road. Byron was a laid back surfer town, with a beautiful coastline, so we quickly decided to stay longer than planned. That caused the weather to turn for a couple of days but we still had a great time chilling out on the beach, body surfing/getting pummeled by big waves, and body boarding.
