Back in Queenstown I was ready for some adrenaline so booked to do the "Fly By Wire". This is basically a tiny plane attached via a cable to a pivot at the top and you have control over steering and power. After some instruction on how to go as fast as possible I was chosen as the guinea pig for the day! It tuned out to be easier than I thought and I soon had the plane up to apparently 100mph! It was a lot of fun and nice to be in control of the adrenaline for a change! More thrilling than scary it definitely comes recommended! In the afternoon I went up the Gondola which takes you up the side of one of the mountains surrounding Queenstown. This give fantasic views of the lake and the town and also has a luge track! Basically a concrete track that you go down on a plastic sledge with wheels! You have steering and a kind of have breaks! I bought 5 goes and the 1st run of the day you have to go down the scenic rack rather than the advanced one! I still managed to almost tip it on the scenic track. My blind faith in it being OK to take the scenic track at full speed was proven not to be correct! After a couple more goes I was getting some good speed up and managed a few overtaking maneuvers much to the worry of those being overtaken! I finished off the day with another Sophie recommendations of a Winnies Gourmet Pizza - another top suggestion!
