From Queenstown I headed East through Cromwell to a small village called Omakau. This was to visit David & Jenny Forsyth who I hadn't seen for quite a few years! It was good to see them again and catch up on their life in NZ. We headed to the local for tea where I was treating to "the best fish and chips in NZ"-a fair claim! We then headed home for the standard NZ fri night of Super 14 rugby. A pretty good standard I have to say! In the morning I attempted to run off the Fish and chips with a jog up the Rail Trail - 160kms of railway turned into a cycling/horse track. A scenic run but didn't quite make the full 160kms! After 1 false start (forgot my charging batteries) I left to head up to Mt Cook village. This was a 4 hour or so drive through more amazing NZ countryside. It is hard to stop yourself having photo stops every few miles!
I arrived in Mt Cook in the late afternoon and stopped in the Mountaineers Cafe. I took advantage of their WiFi to catch up and think it would make one of the most scenic of offices with a stunning view of snow capped mountains.
