Thu 12/7
So 7:30am and the bus driver has stopped and shouting something in Chinese down the bus! Turns out we are in Guilin, 5hrs earlier than we were expecting. So after only a few hours sleep, still half asleep in fact, we are left standing at the bus station with no english signs to be seen! We have directions to our hostel but they are from the train station, once again our iPhone compass comes in very useful! We know the bus station is north of the train station so we head in the south direction, we spot the Home Inn and our hostel is down the lane from it, don't see anything that looks like our hostel, walk into one which only speaks chinese and they try to sell us a room and are no help with pointing us in the right direction! A lady nearby points us in the right direction but still no luck! Starting to get grumpy with the heat, rucksacks and lack of sleep! End up leaving Cameron sitting with the bags and go exploring myself! Found it in less than 5 min! Turns out we wurna far off but there are two Home Inns in the area and thats what sent us in the wrong direction!lol. Couldn't check-in to our hostel until 1pm so end up waiting in the common area for 5 hrs and actually get a good few hours sleep! Lol. Not much thrift to do anything so have lunch and head out with a shopping list of stuff (which the receptionist kindly translated to chinese) to help prevent and soothe my mosquito bites! Not sure what we got but it looks kinda right!lol. Had dinner in the hostel and were back in bed before 7pm! Overnight buses really take it out of you!lol.

Fri 13/7
Well luckily neither of us are superstitious!! Fri 13th is just another day! Must have been tired coz didn't wake up till 10am, 10hrs sleep!lol. Spent the morning/afternoon planning more of our stay in China, there is just so much we want to do, looks like it could be extended by a few days again! Lol. Head out to explore in the late afternoon, go to see the sun and moon pagodas after dark when they are light up, much prettier than through the day! Have dinner at a nice little italian, have vodka for the first time in ages! It tastes so good! Just had to stop at a n Irish bar on the way home for another!lol. Got a bit of entertainment out of it, some dude tried to sell us a watch then randomly started cutting out a silhouette of me! Very random, not bad in 30 seconds and it made us laugh so we bought it from him, he also did cameron, only cost us £1 for both so a nice cheap souvenir!lol.
