Happy birthday to me!! Got our bus from Kuala Lumpur at midnight and got to the border crossing around 5am. Didn't really manage to get much sleep which was a shame! We left the bus at the border and walked to our hostel as it wasn't far away! Unfortunately we had to wait outside for about an hour before the owner came to check us in! He was really helpful and gave us maps and lots of advice! We planned to have a quick nap and head to the zoo and night safari but with getting very little sleep on the bus our nap was longer than we planned! Probably a good thing coz while we were getting showered and ready to head out the heavens opened and i don't think it would have been much fun at the zoo in the rain! Instead we headed into the city centre and went to the Gardens by the bay and got some great views of the Marina Bay Sands which is an amazing building. Maybe some day when we are rich we will go back and actually to stay there! Had dinner in the shopping centre next to the hotel and then treated ourselves to a nice glass of red wine and chocolate cake (for me) and ice cream (for Cam) We really should have shared the cake as it was huge! Could have fed 4 people! Only managed about a third of it and took the rest home!

Mon 1/10
Well no time for sightseeing today, got up and packed our bags, had brunch and made our way to the airport! Got the tube from our hostel straight to the airport which was handy! Sat outside and had a smoke in the sun, it was so lovely and warm we wanted to stay and make the most of the nice weather since we knew we were heading to cooler climates! Time flew past at the airport as per usual! Had some food grabbed some snacks for the plane and stocked up on as much duty free as we were allowed and before we knew it we were boarding the the flight! We payed extra for the entertainment package which was well worth it (who needs over priced food or blankets!lol) We both got ipads which had games and films and books and music etc. to keep us entertained. Probably kept us too entertained as we didn't get much sleep again!
