So I finally made it out of cairns. My original flight was cancelled so I couldn't go to the rugby game, but the hotel my mom got in sydney was amazing!!!! I am going to miss that bed.
The first day we got an iVenture card that is an unlimited 2 day ticket to most of the tourist things in sydney. We tried to do everything! First, the opera house tour was a little boring but it was cool to be able to see the insides of the buildings. Then walked through the botanical gardens. We took a jet boating adventure that was an adrenaline rush. It spun in circles and went really fast while giving us a tour of the harbors. After lunch in china town, we saw captain America on the biggest IMAX screen in the world, yes it really was that big! The zoo we wanted to go to after closed early, so we went to the aquarium where we saw a crazy long necked turtle. And there was fish and sharks and stuff, but that turtle haunts my dreams!!
To wrap up the day we went to the Tower Eye, the tallest building in Sydney and looked out over the whole city. The elevator went up in seconds and I was terrified. Mom was exhausted and it was only day 1.
Day 2: we went to the blue mountains. We took a train out to katoomba, then hopped on the big red bus tour that took us to most of the good walks and sights. We were late to catch the bus for jenolan caves, but got some nice weather for bush walking and some good pictures. Devonshire tea at this little old lady's tea cottage was adorable.
Day 3: we finally made it to the zoo. I made mom take pictures with koalas. Then to paddys market for some accessories. Now off to Byron bay!!
