The Bluesfest was interesting. Definitely listened to some music I never would have listened to. There was a band called The Beards that sang all songs about beards. It was only a little weird going to a festival with my mom, but there were lots of families there too. The bus ride back to Sydney was really long. We checked into the Hilton and rested before going back out for the pylon climb. It was pretty and had some info on how the bridge was built. Definitely worth it. Mom was exhausted and passed out by 7 so I enjoyed tv and a bath in a hotel room. The little things I appreciate after so long of hostel living are hilarious.
The last day we went to Bondi Beach and did the Bondie-Bronte walk. Also pretty. Toward Bronte, we saw a guy climbing on the rocks then dive into the ocean from the rock cliffs. He looked like he couldn't get back to land but we are pretty sure he swam to the other side eventually. I was worried and made her stay till we were kind of sure. After we went to the Sydney Observatory which was interesting for some of the videos, but I don't know if I would have liked a tour.
For dinner, I convinced her to go to the Australian Hotel where I ate the coat of arms pizza with kangaroo and emu meat. It was really good, but I didn't know which meat was which. Finally, we ended our night with the walking tour of The Rocks that gave some interesting facts and a bit more souvenir shopping. I'm glad my mom came. it was nice to see someone from home and she was awesome, but we are definitely two different types of travellers.
