So a 4hour mini bus journey got us to Halong Bay, a bit of hanging around (during this time I discovered the joys of Vietnamese coffee with 'milk') and we set off on our cruise. A lovely lunch was provided, myself and Charles opting out of sea food and were spoilt with the pork, beef and various chicken dishes we were specially made. Without a doubt the best food we had in Vietnam. We toured the floating fishing village in boats rowed by local women, had another lovely meal (this time with a friendly French couple who were keen to mingle with us) some late night squid fishing and finally bed, to be woken at 6.15 sharp for tai chi on the top deck. We went ashore an island to explore a cave then began our journey back to land. All in all a beautiful experience, albeit rather chilly and hindered slightly by the mist and drizzle. Back to Hanoi and straight on to our night bus (which we were collected for by mopeds.......!)
