So I only had a very brief time in Shanghai as there wasn't all that much I wanted to do there. I have also met back up with Bonita who I met just before leaving Mongolia and spent my time with in Beijing.

I did alot of walking in Shanghai with the aim of seeing as much as possible in a short amount of time. So we went to the old city which had been rebuilt and was very touristy but nice. Also walked along the Bund at night and went up one of the big skyscrapers to a hotel just to look at the views. However the smog around here is ridiculously bad so you can only see so far. I also went along to a food market that was basically just the street but was pretty awful to see as alot of the animals were still alive but being kept in awful conditions and some were just dying. So it was interesting to see that side of their culture but it wasn't enjoyable.

We also managed to find another art district but this wasn't as good as the one in beijing as it really was aimed much more at tourists so had a load of little boutique type shops and restaurants.

We then caught a train to Suzhou and I couldn't really get over how quick the train was as it only took 40 minutes!!
