Day 2 in Brisbane and its been quite a busy one.
I seem unable to sleep in past 9 o'clock even if I'm tired. i think its partly due to not wanting to waste any of my days, but the constant noise of other travellers moving around kind of wakes you up as well.
I spent today exploring all the 'sights' of the city of which there doesn't seem to be too many. I got on a really cheap tour bus that lets you get on or off wherever which was quite cool, so I took this down to the river where I strolled around the sunday markets, then went to the Botanic gardens and South Bank which is the trendy riverside place lined with restaurants etc...unfortunately I don't have the budget for those so I ate in the food courts, boo!
The bus showed us the museums, city hall, casino, chinatown and I got off at Queens Street mall to have a look at the shops. I can't say I'm blown away by the city, its quite small and no where near as impressive as its photos. I do like South Bank but there just doesn't seem to be a lot going on. I'm quite craving the big busy city, hopefully Sydney will offer that.
This evening me and 2 girls from my dorm took advantage of cheap cinema tickets and went to see "Take the Lead" down by the river. Was good to go out for an evening not involving drinking and the girls are sweet (one from Norway, one Chinese). Not sure what tommorrow will involve, I'm hoping Jo, Christella and Natalie from my fraser trip will be around in the evening but other that I'm not sure.
