8th June 2005 EASTER ISLAND Today I really found out how small the world is and I am sure its going to happen many times over! I got to Lima airport and met up with Suzi who was on the Inca Trail with me, she to is going to Easter Island and we are booked onto the same flights, going via Chille! We get to Chille and decide that as we have a long wait for the connection flight we should go into the city. We catch a cab, which takes forever and then get stuck in taffic jam, so we decide to get out an walk the few blocks into the main square! We hadn't been out of the cab for more than a minute and we bumped into Mike, who was also on the Inca Trail with us! So we had some lunch and then Mike and I went to the park, which is set on a hill, with the most amazing views of the city with the Andes in the background! We get back to airport just in time to catch the flight to Easter Island! Unfortunately we arrive in the dark but we land ok and I head to my hotel, which is just lush! Its got a swimming pool and everything, although I am the only guest but its peaceful!
