12th June 2005 This morning we went to church! Yes, it was just beautiful to see! The whole village dressed up in there Sunday best, and singing there very tuneful hymns. 11th June 2005 Today we got up at stupid o'clock and went to Ahu Tongariki for the sun rise which was spectacular, I got some wicked photo's! I was really spooky though with these massive statues looming out through the dark at us! We then went horse riding, along the west coast, which was fun, never been horse riding since I was a wee small girly. 9th June 2005 Today I met up with Suzi and we hired a jeep and basically drove around east coast of the Island, stopping at all the Ahu Moai statues along the way. The statues are massive standing anywhere between 2m and 10m tall and beautifully carved out of Volcanic Rock from the Rano Raraku Volcano (also nicknamed The Nursery).
