Argh, bad weather is the bane of my existence. Well actually we have had very good weather until we got to Salzburg. Once again I would like to reiterate that Austria is about two things, old music and "The Sound of Music" and Salzburg has both things in spades. What it also has on spades is rain apparently as it teemed down all day. Salzburg was just a lunch stop for us today, but wifey and I decided to do an optional tour before we had lunch and we (she) weren't disappointed. Apart from the rain we saw where Mozart was born (old music) and where heaps of scenes from some Julie Andrews flick were filmed (The Sound of Music was filmed in and around Salzburg). We also saw a church and some gardens (immaculately kept) and some fountains. Salzburg being the only thing we really saw today was actually very pretty and quite interesting. It is really starting to hit home about how old these place are as Salzburg has a coffee shop 50 years older than Australia. We are staying in Innsbruck tonight and we do a tour of it in the morning then we stop in Liechtenstein before we arrive in Lucerne as our final destination, so a busy day. Looking forward to both Liechtenstein and Lucerne (we go up a mountain in Lucerne, Mt Titlas). We only have about 5 days left on this tour so we are trying to make the most of it, although it will be nice to be back in London at the end of it. Bit plenty more to happen before then.
