Whilst waiting for our ferry we came across a group of 3 Italian bikes complete with dog!
Our journey through Kristainsand was a bit complicated until we realised the reason there weren't any signs was because there was only one road we could actually take!
Once that became clear we followed that road out. By 12 o'clock we had done over 10 kms of tunnels, numerous long bridges spanning shimmering fjords and taken a ferry!
The low hanging clouds shrouding the hills and lying on the fjords has changed the whole atmosphere again and given the landscape a truly mystical and magical feel.
Last night we were talking to a local Norwegian guy from Kristainsand who kept telling us of the strong links between Norway and the UK and how the Norwegians have the greatest respect for the British, perhaps that is down to the fact they kidnapped so many English girls who then indoctrinated their offspring!!
Colin and I have been extremely impressed with the excellent English spoken by everyone we have encountered so far; English is taught as a major subject in all schools from primary onwards.
The Norwegians relied on the UK to help them to develop their oil refineries, so again the language is key for their jobs.
