We are having a sight seeing day in Trondheim today. Although we weren't sure this morning just what we would find or how long we would be out. It's now coffee and cake time at 3:00 and we have been meandering for a good few hours.
As always on our trips we tend to find museums which commemorate wars.
Trondheim is no different although their museums tell the stories of wars between Denmark, Sweden and themselves; there seem to be a lot of conflicts with never any resolution just lots of loss of lives.
This afternoon we visited a fortress which has protected the city since the 1600; the most poignant part was in a tiny enclave where we discovered that members of the Norwegian resistance were executed, quite chilling.
