Gerry was up and about early as we wanted to get to Sangrada Familia early to avoid crowds (that's what it said in the book). Anyway we walked there having breakfast on the way - coffee and toasted sandwich. We got rather late this morning - Gerry needed a good night's sleep and he woke feeling much better today. We had breakfast just up the road - toast with peach jam and very scrumptious coffee. Last night we went to the Ventas arena via the underground rail to see a bullfight. The trains and stations were very clean and orderly and very easy to use. We enjoyed the pomp and ceremony of the bullfight where the matadors , toreadors and picadors all parade into he arena with the horses, in their brightly coloured outfits and all wearing pink stockings. We decided to take two days City Tour bus to get around as quite reasonable at Eu25 and Eu12 for Gerry. We did the first bus route this morning and then in the afternoon we went to Plaza Mayor where we spent a couple of hours watching life in Central Madrid.
