We got rather late this morning - Gerry needed a good night's sleep and he woke feeling much better today. We had breakfast just up the road - toast with peach jam and very scrumptious coffee. We bought tourist bus tickets for two days to get around so today we did one of the three tours which gives a good overview of the city. We got off the bus in the Barri Gothic area which was walking distance back to our hotel. We had some tapas for lunch and spent an hour or so touring the big cathedral in that area. We even went up in a lift onto the roof where you got a great view of the city. We headed home and had a rest and a read up on the rooftop terrace and pool area. Laying back reading a book with a glass of wine in the warm sun is not hard to take. But to walk off the wine we headed up through the "Arc de Triomph, and into the Barri Gothic area again - vey old, skinny streets, lots of tapas bars. We were looking for Plac de St James, but didn't find it and found ourselves down at Port Vell, so we found a place for dinner. Gerry had some pasta and I had tapas of spicy chicken fingers and spicy potato chunks which was yummy. We then made our way to La Rambles which is a bit like Bourke Street Mall but much bigger and there were thousands of people out walking around in the lovely warm evening still 32 degrees. Shouted ourselves an ice cream on the way home. Big day!
