We finally left Arequipa for good today. We have realised that with the bigger cities we have used them as a base camp to roam in the surrounding areas.
In the morning we headed off to the free museum which had been converter by the bank from to old family houses. Apparently the bigger the water fountain in the courtyard, the richer the family. Also seeing an unbelievably lifelike painting of a man whose shoes follow change depending on where you were viewing the painting from. It also explained the banks and coins, showing some old coins too.
We then had an afternoon getting organised, packing bags, arranging passports and buying bus tickets.
We then had our first night bus for a while, where the bus station even had a waiting room and television. It was luxury in comparison to some of our previous journeys. The only slightly annoying thing was the native family in the seats in front. There was an elderly woman who was unable to eat properly mushing her food and spilling half of it on the floor. It was disgusting yet slightly comical to watch.
