We arrived from Tyrona Park in time for dinner at a local restaurant where we had the menu of the day (which is usually soup of the day with a main of chicken, fish or meat with rice, veggies or/and beans)...we had a really gorgeously prepared fish. We took motorcycle taxis to the Dreamer on the beach hostel, which turned out to be more like an awesome resort a minute away from the beach. We checked in, I took a stroll on the beach, we were both rather tired so after socialising a bit we were off to bed.
I decided to go tubing, this was definitely not a health and safety exercise...we got the tubes from the motorcycle taxis, We each had to hold our tubes while on the back of the motorcycle. Once we had gone through excessive rough off-road terrain, we were dropped off and told just to walk straight. Well the "straight" walking was on mountainous paths, bearing n mind we were bare footed. After 25min of walking we got to a little stream and then the river we had to start from. The surrounding view was breathtaking, mountains with green trees, birds flying overhead. We went floating down and passed locals washing their clothes in the river, kids splashing away and cattle crossing with their herder. After 2 and half hours of floating we went were "washed out" at the mouth of the sea. It was a 15min walk back to Dreamer's resort.
As I approached the last bend, a familiar face launched at me...how crazy was this...it was Ivan (again). Lisa was having some rest and relaxation on the beach for the morning and I sent Ivan her way while I dropped off the tube. In a few moments I realised even though I was all sun-blocked up I had still burnt. Lisa and I had lunch at the restaurant on the beach and of course I had another coconut.
We lazed around the resort a bit, walked up to town where we had the best cheese Arepa I've had in Colombia. Back at the resort we had the freshest Maracuya (passion fruit) daiquiri I've had, played some pool and called it a night.
