The Kiwi girls we met, Lisa and I made an early start for the Tyrona National Park. We took a 5000 pesos local bus to the first entrance 38 000 pesos entry and started our 3 and half hour trek through the Columbian jungle. It was truly not a walk in the park, more like scrambling over huge rocks, having to navigate with rather dodgy signs and listing to wild boars that sounded like hyena's on steroids. All said was a pleasant surprise to be greeted by clear waters between huge rock formations, just what we needed to cool down in the ever pressing heat. After having waitied until 2pm we were able to stand in queue to rent a hammock, we weren't sure what the availability was and thus relieved once we got one. The hammocks were so closely strung under this straw roof, it was probably safe to say 50 hammocks under this roof, however was lovely to have the waves lul one to sleep.
In the morning Lisa and I explored the next beach on and went with the rest of the girls to the following beach (La Pacina). We were supposed to snorkel here, however bizarrely they had rentals only at the times of 7am and 4pm. We did the tourists route back, which meant paved/decked walk ways along the coast line. Was really beautiful however not a match to the strenuous walk we did going to San Juan beach.
It was a transfer bus out to the main road. Lisa and I said bye to the kiwi's and took another local bus from the main road to Palomino a beach about an hour away from Tyrona.
