During the night I thought our cabin was going to take off. I even prayed for protection thinking a hurricane may be coming our way. Apparently this is normal however and known as the Pategonian wind.
My two nutter travel buddies decided to go on an 6 hour trek in the gail-force winds and rain. I however being the sane one in the group, decided on a rest day. I explored the town of el Chalten, savoured some local food and drink and hung out with some locals in front of the tv in an attempt to improve my Espanol.
I also tried to communicate with the rest of the world, however one thing is foresure the wifi is a best of times either non existent or extremely slow, depending on the usage of the town. As for signal/H+/3G, not a chance, absolutely no bars on anyone's mobiles. The good thing is that I didn't have to go far to have good views. I walked out the door and voilà, I was surrounded by the amazing Cerro Torro mountain range.
El Chalten is definitely a gem that I am so glad we got to see and experience.
