Woke up late, AGAIN. Drove down to Isle Grande de Chiloe on the 5 - wasn't sure what to expect. Got to Pargua and started to look for the ferry. Woman on corner in vest seemed to know we wanted the ferry, so she motioned us down the street. We went down the street. Got to a boat that was offloading trucks, and another guy motioned us on, we went ahead. Guy comes up asking for 12,000 pesos we pay. Andrew and I look at each other and are like What just happened? How did they know we wanted on the ferry? Are we going where we think we are going? Answer to all questions was yes. And in less than 10 minutes! Drove around on the other side, saw some penguins, played in the sand, and headed back along steep winding roads. Ferry back, much the same. Saw lots of sea lions playing in the water. Home and Andrew and I headed into town for drinks before dinner - told the kids to meet us in an hour. Clouds part and the volcanoe appeared! Sat outside our favorite restaurant and snacked on hummous, wine, and dark and stormies - joined by M and J and had some fries, ham and cheese, langostinos, empanadas, and salad. After dinner went to get cash out for tomorrow and realized I LOST MY DEBIT CARD. Back to house, check in with bank etc. etc. everything ok. GREAT last night in Puerto Varas. M is begging us to move here when we retire so that she can visit us. Tomorrow, waterfalls and swimming?! Before our flight to Punta Arenas - 53 degrees S latitude.
