First stop today is Bullecourt where we can follow the footsteps of one of Anita's relatives, Harold Francis Spruce who was killed at the first battle of Bullecourt. Harold is one of the thousands of fatalities during the First World War who have no know grave other than he is lying in the fields of the Somme. Nice spot to wrap up our days touring. Past through Mont Noir on the French/Belgium border and sampled some chocolate on the way back to Ieper.

Final stop was Epernay, lunch and a visit to Moët and Chandon. Again another great lunch in a small cafe followed by the tour of M & C. Fantastic to see all the network of caves and to stand next to magnums of Dom Perignon. Of course even better once the bottles were popped and the Champagne flowed.

Now down to Ay and a visit and guided tour of one of the local small producers. (Pierre Le Boeuf) Great looking farmhouse just off the Rue Billecart and great tasting Champagne. At €16 a bottle it was a shame we were leaving France tomorrow otherwise I would have had a couple.the big tip is to always look out for the smaller producers from the region.

Next stop was Mutigny, a little town high in the hills of Champagne. Great views of the numerous vineyards on the way. Had a description of the growing process by the Mayor (I think she was the Mayor and not just a good looking girl rolled out for the tourists). Our tour company had 3 trips running today, all in different cars which made it seem a little less rushed than if we had all been in the one bus.
