Ok, so Im back, pictures are uploaded from today's venture and im ready to write. First of all let me start up this entry with the write up on last nights cooking, courtesy of Jan.
Last nights meal was a completely unexplainable, fine piece of hand-prepared cook work. The sumptuous banquet of flavours spoke magnificence, I was astounded what effect the flavours were having upon my well-trained pallette.
For starters we enjoyed a dozen elegant prawn twists, so light, yet so mourish and flavoursome. Next in line was a careful blend of the finest prawns gathered from the furthest eastern shores, accompanied by delicous wild rice doused in the perfect amount of oriental black bean sauce.
Conclusively, this dining experience excelled every box in the book. It allowed myself and my colleauges to feel the rush, that of a mix of perfectly executed flavours. It got the adrenaline flowing smoothly through each sector of the body, it completed me.
Basically, thankyou Jan for a lovely Hand-Made Chinese, which i really enjoyed. Ok now onto the days events!
The day started for me at 6am this morning, 6pm over in England! Last night saw me yet again in the hot tub, chillaxing with a cheeky beverage. Cant go wrong there can we?
Once we got some breakfast down our gullets we set off on the 2-3 hour drive to a small town called Kaikoura, solely in existence for its famous whale tours.
Around 2 hours and 15 minutes later at the average speed of 350km per hour we reached Kaikoura slightly earlier than expected, not suprising with the inner-angry race driver child my dad displayed.
So we parked the car and made our way to the whale centre to get on a boat and see some whales. Enter door, read the electronic display CANCELLED, wow brilliant we drive 2 hours and no whales for us! A'well being the tenacious lot we are, bring on the Mobtastic breakfast of all epic proportions.
A 10 minute walk to the town/we just drove! and then a nice sit down in a local gaff for some tasty grub. Living up to expectation my breakfast was rather legendary and Dad's and Jan's pancake-stacker concuction looked equally as nice!
After pleasing our stomaches i decided i'd like to have a little walk to take some pictures of the dangerously fantastic views. Me with my canon 550d, jan with her 400d and a bundle of lenses, you could say we looked like a couple of Japanese Tourists!
There were lots of interesting sign's in the short-stretch of village shopss and the view out to sea provided great oppurtunity for some great shots and brilliant background bokeh for some shots of my Dad and Jan. I had a really good time using Jans super 300mm lens, although it was annoying I couldn't get a wide angle with it. Yeah I am a pretty expectant guy!
After taking a good handful of pictures in Kaikoura my work was done! a real shame about the whale watching cancelation, but nevertheless, we got out the house and sucked in the fresh fresh air.
Just before we left we visited a maori gift shop and Jan treated me to a Green Stone Necklace. The symbol carved is supposed to provide me with protection from evil. hopefully I have a proper safe old trip, with my new necklace addition. I stake my chance well in this farce, evacious, uncontrollable society. Wow that was deep! hope it makes sense, cause it sounded cool!
On the way home we encountered slightly more traffic in the form of wonkey-eyed tourists. Closer to home we stopped off at world famous cider brewery for a cheeky one! nope turns out its now changed. Ok no cider, were off says my dad! One last stop off to see some jet boats, not many around but i snapped one entering the water. I also got some sneaky video, but im going to have to store the footage and work on it when i finish my ventures and am back in sunny sunny England.
Oh yeah, I also ran 20 laps of my dads garden yesterday, not sure how far but my dad's going to clock how far it is on his motorbike, pretty big garden!
Another two weeks and its off to Auckland to see my mate and to try get some work, got a rough structure of plans to follow, its going to be massive!
ps: thankyou Jan for my Green Stone Necklace! :)
Also guys, Stay Tuned, you wouldn't want to miss out!

Grandma Trish Hi James, So glad you are enjoying yourself. We had two attempts at whale watching but it was well worth the early starts. Hope you get to see them. I think you wll enjoy Auckland, we loved the place. Loads a luv x
John Shame no whales. Mind you in the 16ft swell we had when we did our spotting, we only just saw a brief glimpse. Lots of dusky dolphins though (about 400). Did you go to the North end of Kaikoura? there is a seal colony there. We were in touching distance. Also, to the south, I remember a cave, That was pretty impressive too - as there was only your grandma and me, we had a great guided tour.
