I got an early start!! I left the house before 8am and caught the 45 min bus to town.
I had planned on doing hop on hop off as it was supposed to be a rainy day, but it wasn't rainy! Ok, it wasn't beautiful either but it was ok. Since there was really only Granville Island Markets that I wanted to go to on the hop bus, I decided to spend the morning visiting Lynn Canyon instead, then just take myself to the markets in the afternoon. Lynn Canyon has a suspension bridge and lots of wildlife! Would have been no point going if it was rainy though.
So first stop was the info centre to find out how to get to Lynn Canyon! Easy...buy an all day bus/train/ferry ticket. I caught the seabus ferry across to North Vancouver, then a bus to the canyon.
It was nice and all that, but a little disappointing. Everyone said you see heaps of wildlife out there, but all I saw was a big worm! At least the sun came out and it even got quite warm.
I did a short walk to a waterfall, then a short walk to a rock pool. The suspension bridge was pretty cool, although hard to enjoy with only room for 1 line of people each way, and the line stops constantly for people taking photos.
While I was there I got a message from one of the tour girls, Christa (from both tours). She was at a loose end and wanted to hang out. I told her I was heading to the markets in the arvo and could meet her around 3. She said she'd love to join me so we agreed to meet at the same meeting point as yeasterday.
Turns out I got back early so we met around 2. It was nice to see a familiar face again!
We caught the bus down to Granville Island and checked out the markets and some little shops, we had a nice time and had fun looking back and remembering all the cool stuff we packed into our 3 week tour.
Bus back to town and then we went our separate ways...again!
I wandered down the main street again and went back to buy a bag I saw the other day. Pretty sure my suitcase will be overweight, and I have allowance for 2 checked bags, so I may aswell pay for a bag, instead of pay wasted excess baggage fees. Besides...that meant I could buy more souvineers!!
I grabbed a Subway for dinner, and had my last Canadian dinner sitting at the wharf at Canada Place, overlooking the water. It was quite pleasant.
I got home around 8pm, and spent some time repacking. Ready to fall into my comfy bed now for my last Canadian sleep.
I'm sad it's all over, but looking forward to jetting back home tomorrow!
