So I had a traditional English breakfast today: Eggs, sausage, bacon and fried vegetables. It was pretty delicious.
So Heathrow was closed all day to arrivals and only a handful of departures were permitted. Now many of the people from EPA and NYU who are stranded in London don't have flights out until Wednesday-Friday. T seems to think that if there are no further weather problems on Thursday, that my flight should be fine (let's hope so - I don't have enough money for other scenarios).
When I finally left the hotel I headed to the beach (a rock/pebble beach, not sand) and the Brighton Pier. This was pretty cool, although much was closed on a Sunday afternoon. There were a couple of restaurants, food stands and a large arcade, not to mention the carnival-like section at the end.
After the pier I bought some snacks at a grocery store then wandered around the Lanes/Laines (narrow winding streets of shops, adjacent to the major chain shopping areas). Then I went to the cinema to see Harry Potter 7.1 again - it was just as great this time, but of course leaves you with such a frustrating feeling - especially since I know what is still to come.
After to the movie I came back to the hotel and did extensive research about flights and the weather - this situation does not seem to be improving at all. Stacy is now booked on a 4:20 pm flight tomorrow. Let's hope this actually happens.
