We found a lovely campsite this morning closer in towards the centre of the park. Still about 25 km from the visitors centre, which also has a large general store, post office, art gallery, restaurants and cafés - small village really. The Central park area is very busy, with traffic jams and pedestrians worse than peak hour in Dean St. Albury. Over 6 million people visit this park each year, mainly in summer months!
We spent a lot of time at the village, also driving around doing short hikes to points of interest, like waterfalls and mountain views. A lovely relaxing day!
Yosemite has some great wildlife - bears, mountain lions (in our camp!) squirrels, and chipmunks. Squirrels are the size of rats and scamper under the tables where they are ever hopeful that someone will drop some food. Cute critters!
