Wow, by the end of this I guarantee you will be SO bored!!!!
But hey, you love us so you will dutifully sit and read it anyway, THANKS GUYS!!!!
So we did the whole Cannoning thing, Queens town has completely lost the tiny bit of appeal it once had and we were bored. Now apparently when we get bored, we drink. Unfortunately for us, we had befriended some more Irish! They were also bored as their scenic flight had been canceled. All added together makes a bit of a mess, some card games and a big hangover.
Unfortunately for us AGAIN, we had to be up at 6.30 the next morning for our bus to Milford sound. We had a new driver BP (grumpy) but luckily we were still a bit drunk so we made the most of it. We visited a Mirror lake that had no reflection coz it was RAINING so much and hen headed on down through to Milford Sound. Now I was feeling a little…. Worse for wears at this point, so Milford Sound was not all that amazing to me. Pretty enough don't get me wrong. But after all the hype I was a little disappointed.
Luckily that night we went to a sheep shearing farm and ate sausages that I'm not a fan of. It was great fun on the farm but by the end of the day we were knackered and were glad to get into TERRANCE our new best friend, our Tent.
The next day we traveled to Stewart Island by ferry. We love Stewart Island, most people only spend 1 night, we spent 4! It rained the whole time and they had a great pub so I guess we just felt at home! We played chess, lots of pool, pub quiz and walked. The pub quiz was scary, it was run by a big b**** women who seemed to have anger issues. To all of you who have been to my quizzes, I'm sorry if I was ever mean! We were sad to leave Stewart Island, especially as it meant we were on our way to Dunedin.
Now, I know that sounds harsh, but it's not the most exciting place in the world! Speights Brewery tour was good fun though. We were true pros though, we knew it all already and asked the tour guide lots of hard questions. Tan… you would have been proud!! Also, weirdly, on the same tour, there was a girl who was once friends with a very old friend of mines sister! Well she obviously didn't have a clue who I was but hey! At the end of the tour there was loads of free beer! We were allowed to just help ourselves, whoops, tiddled again!
The next day we went back to Queens town, urgh. This time we went juggling by the lake which was FAR more interesting the rest of town. We then left for Christchurch.
Christchurch was ok, same as before really. There was a Buskers Festival one, which Dave loved, of course. We spent a whole day in the main square watching the performers and night watched an amazing aerial show which was so cool, and quite funny to.
From Christchurch to Picton we went through Kiakora again, same as before as well really, only this time the weather was poo, so we were lucky the first time I think.
Then we went to Picton. Now Kerry, one of our best drivers had a very low opinion of Picton, he said his gilrfiend wouldn't even come see him there that night coz it was so rubbish. We however were booked into the Juggler's Rest, one of our favourite hostels so far. When he dropped us off, Kerry came in for a nose and even he was impressed. Fantastic bedding, little booty slippers (no shoes in the house), fresh veg from the garden (donations only) homemade bread and jam, in the morning (free), beautiful garden and of course….. JUGGLING!!!! No sooner had we arrived, than Dave had made new friend Manon (French and so lovely) and was learning new tricks. We made another friend there, Katia, she was a German Goth. Misunderstood by most as being angry, we got on really well and she did us a lot of favours. The greatest being that when we left and were sat in the ferry terminal, she walked all the way down to give us back our camera we'd left. It was a boiling hot day, she wears black head to toe and it was really far!!! So all in all we loved Picton. The owners of the hostel did a fire poi show in the evening, I think even Dave now likes Poi a little better.
The ferry to Wellington was pretty calm and boring. We arrived in Wellington to discover our hostel was opposite the terminal, SCORE. That good feeling didn't last long, turns out its miles away from everything else!!!! We didn't mind too much though. We went to the Leonardo De Vinci expo which was really interesting and the Te Papa museum which was really cool. We spent two days there, its huge! There was the colossal squid, COOL!!
And then we travelled to Taupo, which we all know and love. We had heard that Wince (friend from the days of the skatepark) and her b/f Chris had got engaged since we were last there so we went for their engagement do which was really nice. It was a comfort to actually be involved in people's lives again instead of constantly skirting around with them. On our second day we rented a boat and went round the Lake. Chris and Dave jumped in but me and Wince ain't stupid, we stayed dry and warm!!! We then got a picnic and went to Spa park where there is a point where a HOT stream joins the river, it was AMAZING. We of course could not leave without having a go on the zip line!
That night Wince and Chris very kindly let us stay with them, Terrance is lovely and all, but a little hot and uncomfortable. The next day we went Turangi and played CRAZY GOLF and then went for a really nice walk through the National Park.
The next day we left for Rotorua or Rota Vegas as it is affectionately known! Rotorua is famous for its geothermal activity, IT SSMELLS LIKE EGG!!!!! It was cool enough though. Luckily (we seem to be very lucky!) it was also the location of NZ biggest Reggae festival at the same time, so normally packed, the town was dead! We went and saw the mud pools, the geezer and some Mauri culture stuff. It was all cool, just SO HOT!!!!! I wore my hat though Mum don't worry.
And that's it you'll be pleased to hear! The last month in a rather large Nut Shell!!!!
LOVE YOU!!!!!!
