And so we jumped on a plane to Perth after a a quick chat with Waye to say we're coming to town. Being the sweetie he is he offered us a couch to stay on. So we arrived and found his very nice house in Maylands just outside the city. It was great to see a familiar friendly face again. We got a tour of the city and then were invited to a house party some of his friends were having. It was really nice, Aussie house, Aussie people, it was a real experience. Got very drunk and sayed up very late and eventually crashed on the floor!
Next morning everyone was feeling a little worse for wears so went for a yummy brekkie at Little Creatures a wicked place in Freo. The rest of the day was speent relaxing on the beach.
Now I should explain. Wayne is a Geologist and often goes on week long expedition thingies, where he has to go out into the bush and drill for minerals. He had one booked for the week we were there so we had his house pretty much to ourselves, SWEET! We lived normally for a while, with a tv and a private bathroom and a real kitchen for real food. It was a fantastic break. When Wayne returned to a spring cleaned house he couldn't believe the difference from the Zombies he'd left a few days before. We went to the beacha lot and caught up with Brendan and Aislinn who we made friends with in NZ. It was so nice to catch up.
When Wayne got back we had another drinking night and felt rubbish the next day so went to the beach again! He he. Perth is a very normal city. Nothing spectacular, not very touristy, its more like Bristol than Bath. It actaully reminded me a lot of Swindon! but a whole lot nicer. Our week there was much needed. But we couldn't stey there forever, it was time to move on, back to Adelaide to begin the trip through the Red Centre.
