Our first breakfast in Paris, Baguette, butter, fresh fruits and coffee. All bought a few steps away, great way to shop.
We decided to walk around and down to the arc de Triomphe today. Walking to the Jardin des Tuileries at the bottom of the Champs Elysee wasn't too bad, only a bit of whinging from the kids. But then we walked the whole Champs Élysées, and back home a different route, sort of following our nose and sort of following a map.
beautiful buildings everywhere, but we are all exhausted so we had a late lunch and for more punishment decided to go to Galeries Lafayette, which is a huge department store on five levels with everything from Tiffanys to Gap. mostly way too expensive for me, Noel Paige and Lachlan went home after half an hour, but AJ and I stayed on for a couple of hours, late night shopping on Thursdays here too. The great things its not dark till about 10 so we can walk home safely.
