Vikki: Today was our last day in KL. Tomorrow we head off again on the bus for Penang Island - bring on the beach!
We headed into the city this morning and got tickets to go up the Petronas Towers, also known as the Twin Towers. They stand 452 metres tall and are joined by a Sky Bridge 170m up. The towers are the 7th tallest building in the world.
First we got to stop at the Sky Bridge on the 41st floor - the bridge was actually constructed for evacuation safety. Then we got to go up to the Observation Deck on the 86 floor. It was so high up our ears kept popping as we went up the lift. We saw lots of swimming pools on top of hotel roofs and other tall buildings. The cars and people looked tiny like ants. The trip back down took 30 seconds - fast!
We also visited the aquarium. We discovered some new creatures that we had never seen before like spider crabs (you wouldn't want to stand on one of these when you are in the sea), lots of different types of snakes and lots of different types of eels. Our favourites were: Harley's was a huge stingray, Anouk's the spider-crabs and the iguana, and Vikki's was the honey-comb eel. Raj didn't come with us, he relaxed at Starbuck's and made use of the free wifi - boring Dad!
