We took jeeps to the rural villages of India. As we drove through the villages you could instantly tell that they had never seen white people before, they found us fascinating. Kids were chasing our jeep down the road!
Our first stop was the farming fields, it was interesting to see how is was mostly women working in the fields and harvesting the foods. However before this we had only seen male workers!
We then stopped ina. Small villlage, Girri told us that all them people living here have never had an education as they believe strongly against it. They think if they send there children to school they are going against their families traditions - which is ridiculous. It was lovely to see so many smiley faces although there were living in such tough conditions.
The houses were made of mud and cement with a main beam running through the house which was the stem of a palm tree.
As we walked through, we saw so many different ages. There were kids playing with sticks and cards that they had drawn up there self. We went into someone’s house were they were making tea over charcoal and wood, as we walked past the girls giggled. I think they found it funny that we were taking photos and finding there way of life so fascinating.
A very small boy became attached to me when we were there. He hung onto my arm for a while and then started swinging on it. I was defiantly not the strongest candidate. We then played a few clapping games which he enjoyed. After 10 minutes or so, he pointed at my bum bag and rick sack asking if he could have it. I had to politely say no.
On the way back we stopped off on the side of the road, dirt track road and sat on the edge waiting for the sun to set. We played games and drunk masala chai. The sun set, it was beautiful. India really does have some great sunsets.
