We woke up early for another bus journey to Pushkar, which took roughly 7-8 hours. This wasn’t too bad. I slept most of the way even though it wasn’t very comfy.
We arrived in Pushkar mid afternoon, had lunch at the hotel (Hotel New Park, Pand Kund Road) in the garden which was nice. Lindsey even went for a swim in the pool. That is when we realised there were a lot of monkeys at this hotel.
We then went out with Girri and a tour guide for a tour of the town. We went past a large blue buildings where we were told this was where the Hermets lived. I never knew what this meant until now. The government have provided shelter for those who want a simple life with no possessions.
We walked further in and saw so many market places and temples. We went and saw the world’s only temple to the Hindu god of creation, Brahma which was very interesting. Here we had to leave all of our shoes and any leather belongings inside a local cafe.
Pushkar is so sacred that no meat, alcohol, or eggs are allowed within the city.
After visiting the temple we all went to a bar called blue bar which was situated in the middle of markets. We sat on the roof and watched the sun set over a lassi (yoghurt drink) and a pizza!
