Today I arrived on my big adventure!
Flight was great, all the staff on Virgin Atlantic were so helpful.
When I got to the airport I met a girl called Holly as we were both in the wrong queue when going through the Visa check.
We departed once we had both collected out luggage. It took me ages as my backpack was covered in cling film and I had no knife to cut it open.
I eventually walked through where I met my transfer and funnily enough Holly was in the same transfer!
The ride in the taxi was such an experience. There is no road etiquette, people cross over and drive literally 6ft away from each other. Some cars have there mirrors closed so they can fit through.
Sadly, there is a lot of poverty, children as little as 5/6 weaving in and out of a motorway road full of cars! They are sometimes selling toys or windscreen protectors. However some are begging at the windows. I had a drink on my lap (which was a mistake) and she was tapping on the window whilst we were in standstill traffic asking for the drink. However, I read you are not suppose to give to beggers.
I eventually got to my hotel - Hotel Perfect (16A/2, W.E.A. Karol Bagh, New Delhi-110005), very nice staff and nice rooms - even with a warm shower! I had a nap as the flight messed up my sleeping pattern, then I didn’t wake up until 11pm so decided it wasn’t safe to go out alone!
