Today was the day we came back to Fort Kochin, the trip has come to an end! We got a 1 and a half hour boat journey from our homestay to Allpelpy main town where the coach met us and took us back to the fort Castle hotel where we originally set off, this was 1 hour from Allpelpy.
We arrived back midday and everyone departed. Emmanuel wasn’t leaving until half 4 so we went and looked at the shops in the small town. She managed to find some nice rings then we went for lunch at the bakery. I had pancakes and a banana bun, it was really tasty! We met another traveller called Vishal from Mumbai and his friend Joy, they were so lovely and easy to talk to. They were travelling for business purposes as they have set up something similar to Air b n b in India! After a fun lunch, Emmanuel left for the airport - she was such a good room mate, I will definitely have to keep in touch via postcards (that’s what she loves!).
After Emmanuel left I decided to stay in a chill as it was far to got outside. I had a date at 7 with the boy Rahul that I met on the first day I arrived.
Rahul picked me up from the hotel at 7 and we went straight to dinner. He took me to a lovely fish restaurant which was the only place in the town that served liquors. He was such a gentleman, I sat down and then he told me to get up and move seats so I could have a better view and so he could pull the chair out for me. We started off with two beers, this had already gone to my head as I hadn’t eaten much!
As we chatted I found out that he decided to miss his formal Navy ball to come and see me! He also missed his horse riding lesson as he was scared the particles would make me sneeze!! We had a delicious fish meal and shared our life stories with each other. He wouldn’t let me pay and insisted on paying! So generous!
After dinner we went for a walk along the coastal front, was really pretty as the fisherman were out doing there job and there was a lot of locals socialising. It was funny how I was bothered my any locals just because I was with an Indian boy!
He then walked me back to my hostel and presented me four chocolate bars, he said he didn’t know what chocolate I liked so he got me a mixture. So kind and he bought it especially for my plane to Mumbai!
We shared our farewells and said we would keep in touch as we may be in the same area again!
I went in at about 1 and quickly packed as I was up early for the airport the next day!
