Arrived in Fort Kotchin in the afternoon and checked into hotel Fort castle. My room was on the ground floor and was a bit smelly and mouldy!
Went for lunch at cafe Loafers which was round the corner. Has a really tasty sandwich! I also noticed that the bread is really sweet down south, kind of like cake!
After lunch I explored the small little town, it was very touristy here, more like a family destination. I then walked along the seafront for ages. It was a weird walk as when I sat down, I was pounded on by loads of boys wanting Photos! I think this is a popular destination with Indian tourists too! As I walked there were many market stalls selling totally random things like a hand held sewing machine, bubble machine and plastic cars!
I then went and sat on the beach for a drink. I sat watching the Chinese fishing nets go up and down. I also had a few Chinese kids come up to me talking Indian English, I think they just wanted to practice. It was funny when in the distance you can see the parent nudging them towards me!
Then out of the blue a Indian boy came over and asked if he could sit with me. I said sure and he sat with me for about an hour! His name was Rahul and he was the same age and worked in the Indian Navy! He was very chatty and told me lots of interesting things about the navy and his life back home in Delhi!
I then had to leave to go to the hotel to meet my tour group. He walked me to the hotel and we exchanged numbers so if I needed any help in India I could call him!
I arrived back at the hotel just in time to meet the group. There was only three people and the rest had been held up! So there was Martin and Margret, they were a cute couple in there 60s and then Gregg who was about 30. After one group introduction meeting with our tour guide Sanna, we went for a meal in the town. It was amazing! They gave you a complimentary pumpkin soup for starters and the I had a fish mollie which is a type of fish curry, it was delicious.
We then headed back to the hotel ready for the next day! That night at about 10 my room mate arrived! Her name was Emmanuel and she was from Paris, France. She was ever so lovely and so like me!
