Today I woke up at 11 as I was exhausted from the day before. I then went out and planned to do a full day of sightseeing.
I first walked towards the famous train station ‘Mumbai Central’ this was the main station in Mumbai. It was very impressive looking as it was such a grand building. It kind of reminded me of Kings Cross but with palm trees! I also went inside to get a feel of an Indian busy train station - it was so so hectic, people were rushing everywhere!
I then went to see the High court, which was also another impressive building. This one I thought I’d try my luck and see if I could go inside but they didn’t let me! I just had to see from the outside.
I then happened to walk through a cricket ground. There were two games going on at the same time with a public path running through the middle. It was nice to see there passion for cricket.
I then came across a street called ‘Fashion street’. This was such an impressive road. It was a never ending market which rows and rows of stalls all along the side of a main road. You could get literally anything from this place!
It was a really warm day so I stopped by at the Salt water cafe which was located near the marine drive. As I had been walking all day I treated myself to an ice cream and a drink.
I then went to the Marine drive and walked as far as I could. Even stopped at the aquarium on the way. The Aquarian was awful, the tanks were filthy and the presentation itself was awful! Some of the tanks didn’t even have any fish in! It was nice to walk along the Marine Drive as you saw so many different people.
I decided to go and sit on the beach as the end of Marine Drive, this was an experience, I was the only foreigner there! I then decided to slowly walk back and found a good spot on the con-create edge to watch the sun set. I was then joined by a local guy who just wanted to talk. I just say he actually spoke to much and I nearly missed the sun set!! I had had such a busy day and wanted to watch the sunset peacefully!
I eventually managed to say bye to the Indian guy and started making my way back to the hostel. I stopped at the Coffee club for dinner, this is a local chain here which everyone uses!
Funnily enough when I got back to the hostel I saw Jamie who I had met in Goa, he was the one who I went biking with!
