The only way is up!!! As they say. After our time to Legian, that must be true…

Unless your next stop is Phuket…..

We arrived back in Thailand, a much wetter and cooler climate than that of Bali. Quite refreshing and provided some relief from all the heat and sun we have been in for the last few weeks. It's a hard life.

The bus we took from the airport took us to our Hostel, obviously stopping, quite shamefully at the side of a highway to drop us off at the company office when they would try to sell all the package trips Phuket has to offer. We were tired and wanted to get to our accommodation, and politely declined before heading back into the bus for the second leg of our trip.

The skies we closing in around us and the clouds were blackening on a stormy Phuket which hopefully, was not a sign of what was to come.

We arrived at our hotel, after going through the 'famous' patong beach area, the sort of place that would have made a great home to Gary Glitter… Quite, quite horrifying. Littered with Go Go Bars, Burger Kings and 18 year olds on every corner with straws in their mouths while drinking from their buckets of whiskey.

Our stop at Karon Bay was very similar, with just a few small changes of detail. Food was mega expensive, the streets were slightly cleaner and the old men were slightly dirtier. Pairs of Thai girls and Western OAPs were to be seen in most restaurants and im sure, in most hotel rooms.

Not a great deal of positive things to say about Karon Beach. It feels that we are going from seedy Indonesia to seedier Asia and I think we are both looking forward to getting out of there!!!

There has never been a more welcomed site than that of our bus sitting at Phuket Town Bus terminal ready to take us 14 hours north. Let's get out of this hell hole.

Nice relaxing stop over for a few nights was next on the cards. A sleepy little town called Bangkok!!!
