We crossed the boarded today to Costa Rica so many people had told us this border crossing was one of the worst but for us it was one of the easiest ones. We just had to catch a bus on the Panama side to border and then walk across no mans land to Costa Rica where we caught another taxi to Puerto Viajo. We found this great hostel Crocodile Surf Camp which we had a little bungalow on the beach. Straight away I loved this town, its small with loads of restaurants on the streets, market stalls and everyone on bikes. We hired bikes straight away and just cruised the street checking out the town. They had a great ice cream store and also this guy who rode around on a bike selling warm cinnamon rolls which were amazing. That night we had Indian in town and it was good we miss Indian and you can never find it.
Puerto Viajo is on the Caribbean side of Coast Rica so its very Jamaican and just so chilled out.
We rode out of town a bit to a beach which was beautiful and chilled out there for the day playing friz and body surfing. At night we went out for an amazing seafood dinner. Then went to a bar for a few more beers and pool. I loved this town. It's my favorite and I will return one day.
5 hour bus to San Jose stayed 1 night in transit on way to Pacific Coast. Stayed at Costa Rica Backpackers pretty average but cheap. Didn't really do anything in San Jose it is just a big old ugly city.
