We landed in Bogota the capital city of Columbia shattered. Going through customs and no one at all speaks English with our broken Spanish we finally get out to he taxi rank.
The drive to the city was crazy so many roadworks and then when we hit the city our taxi driver dosent know where he is going and all the streets in Bogota are one way and still our taxi driver dosent know this. Finally after nearly 2 hours we see our hostel but no one speaks English.
On our first day checked out the Military Museum and the Police Museum with Kerryn a kiwi guy we met in our hostel. It was really interesting, they had heaps of stuff in there about Pablo Escabar and the drug cartels. They also had some really graffic photos in there. For lunch we went and had our first set menu. Which consisted of some type of meat soup and chicken main. Not too bad.
We then caught the finicular up to the Monserrat which had an amazing view of the city.
At night we meet a few travellers and headed to a local Spanish Bar where they were doing salsa dancing as much as I didnt want to get up after a few Aguadientes I was up and I ended up getting in the top 3 and then I think I won. Junior couldnt stop laughing at me as he knows how good my dancing is. It was a very funny night though.,
