Solento was about 7 hours from Medellin so we took a day bus. Feeling a bit sorry for ourselves on the bus after a massive night in Medellin. Solento is a small country town known for their coffee and cowboys.
Arrived in Solento at about 8pm finally, found the hostel Plantation house which is about $40,000 pesos per night for your own room which was really nice and chilled out but just make sure you lock your room as they have had a few problems with bags being stolen and rooms getting broken into.
The weekend was crazy with hundreds of locals taking a break from Armenia which is a bit feral.
They had great pool rooms there and this game called Tejo where you thrown metal weights at a board filled with clay and another metal ring with 2 sets of gun powder wrapped in paper resting on the ring. You throw the weight at the gun powder and if you get it it goes off. Junior got it 3 times I got it about ahh none. I got close many times though. It was good fun and free you just had to drink a few beers there which was no problem at all.
We did a coffee tour which was beautiful and great to find out how the final product makes the shelf.
Last day in Solento we were supossed to go to National Park but it rained all day long so we just chilled all day drinking coffee and playing pool at the pool hall.
Travelled to Popoyan arrived late and just stayed one night to break up the trip to Quito, Ecuador. Stayed at the Hostel Trail which was $40,000 pesos for your own room. You can walk to hostel from the bus station and it´s close to the main town.
