So last time I wrote my blog I was in Ko Phi Phi. Since then I've been to Ko Lanta, Bangkok, Hanoi, Haylong Bay and im now in Sapa.
We had two days in Ko Lanta. The beach was gorgeous and the sea was really deep. A really romantic place for couples and families so two days was just enough. We had a day at the beach and a day elephant trecking and it was amazing!! We didnt actually get to spend much of the time on the elephants, but it was still incredible. They let me climb down off our seat and ride on the elephants neck. Mum you should be swapping horseriding for elephants you'd love it. I think my second best day yet after the dolphins.
After Ko Lanta we went to Bangkok to meet back up with Rob and Rachels boyfriend Sam. It was such a change to the beaches, massive crowded city full of hustle and bustle. The people are friendly and I enjoyed a good haggle on prices, the markets and the temples. Bangkok weekend market was massive, its had so many gorgeous clothes and I bought a couple of tops. The only part I didnt like was the pet sections. Everything was in cages so so small and theyd put dresses on the rabbits that couldnt move, and when the puppies came to the edge to see people they hit them back in the cage, not cool, but an experience of seeing how different places are.
On the 3rd day id gotten really home sick, it had been 3 weeks and I was missing Paul and I just cried like a girl! Once I start I cant stop so it was a full days worth, and the first day I met Sam, so he prob thinks im a right nutter!! And I started again later when I was drunk, what a nob.
After a crazy dash through the airport at 6am we went from Bangkok to Hanoi and what a difference. Vietnam is mental. The roads are something else with no rules and a million motorbikes at every direction. Our hostel was really nice and Robs gf Katie also came to meet us here. Bia Hoi has been going down a treat. People have resteraunts on the pavements so you literally sit on a childs stool and drink beer at 50p a pint and have noodle soup. I was going to try dog but have since learnt that to make the meat taste better the make the dog distressed before they kill it, so ill be giving that one a miss. I did eat a beetle in bangkok and goat in vietnam.
After a few days of risking my life to cross the road, I was ready for a new trip and really enjoyed our time in Haylong Bay. The boat was a good size with a deck and nice rooms. It was a really romantic setting but we had a good group of people on our boat and I was happily distracted. We went kayaking and in a cave on one of the islands. We also stayed in a nice hotal for a night and went for a drink with people we'd met from the boat trip. I got far too drunk, didnt realise, and was sick for ages in the toilet in the bar. I actually dont remember a few hours of it, but apparently my tour guide and rachel had been nocking on the door for ages and shouting me, they was gunna break the door down, I didnt hear them id had too much. But they tried again later and I heard and opened the door and tried to get myself home. Somehow with the strength of ten men, I snapped my key in the hotel room door. Rachel and Sam found me sat outside my door, sorted me getting in and pretty much babysat me. Def need to watch my drinking. I had to pay 571,000dong for the key (16quid) so I guess it could have been worse but thats loads of money here.
So were now in Sapa. We got the night train from hanoi. Some of the rooms were good on the train, but I had a top bunk and literally the roof was on my face like a coffin. I still slept right through though I was nackered and today weve been on a 14k treck through the mountains. It was gorgeous, the air is so clean here and I had an 11year old girl helping me not fall. Not that im shocked I need help from an 11year old lol. Thats it for now I think. Need to keep more up to date with blogs cos im sure ive missed things out. Facebook is really hard to get on in vietnam so my pics may have to wait a bit
