Its only been a few days since my last blog and ive done so much already! Finally got my photos uploaded today so people can get a lot better picture of what ive been up to.

Monday was the best Monday morning ever. I used to hate them. The alarm went off and we had to be ready to set off at 7am for our easy rider tour. What a day. A guide took each of us on the back of their motorbike and we made our way through the beautiful mountain side to Rot's village (our tour guide).

The first stop we made was to a cricket farm. and at 8am we found ourselves eating fried cricket. Rot tricked us by eating one and saying it was our favourite food, and then when we'd eaten them he said he thought they were disguisting lol.

Then to the markets and after that an amazing waterfall. It was great we had to climb accross the rocks to get really close to it, then we went into the cave and got to stand behind it.

Next to a silk farm to see how its made. It was a lot more interesting than expected and the man that worked their was a genious he's made a machine to sew the silk and put the print on it and god knows how it works its a right contraption. (you would like that John)

We stopped at a coffee farm and then went to Rots village. The scenery on the way was amazing, and it was lots of fun on the back of a bike in the sun. We sat in a the house of a woman from the village and he told us about their way of life. It was totally oppsite to in Sa Pa in that there you have to buy a husband. The woman had five children, she and her husband had fallen in love years ago and she had promised that she would save up to buy him off his parents. She tried to save up and couldn't afford what they were asking so one day they'd had enough and came and took him back, they had to tie him up as he didnt want to go, and they sold him to someone else. Then her mum showed us how they make silk clothes by hand.

We had lunch made by his sister who is a monk. It was really funny. He introduced her by saying "this is my sister, she is a monk and she doens't enjoy life - she isn't allowed to do anything".

After our lunch Rot brought in all different fruits from his garden, and as much as Im not a fruit fan I thought it would be rude not to try. So we had some of the fruits and then he peeled this brown sqaure out of banana leaf. He said its their version of chocolate. We all had a bite, wasn't a fan. And then he was laughing and said it was cow poo!!!!!!!!!!
Im not certain its true that we ate s*** but I think so. He was then offering it to the kids and they were all turning their noses away. Just your basic Monday eating crickets and cow s***.

After a 7 hour caoch journey were now in Ho Chi Minh City and its crazy! There are 9 million people and 5 million motorbikes! You should see the raods, so much busier than Hanoi and very difficult to cross the road.

Today we've been to the war museum and it was quite upsetting to learn about the things tht have happened in Vietnam and see pictures of the war victims. We also went to the markets and have booked a trip tomorrow to the tunnels that they used to hide in when the war was on and to a mosk. Then we have a few days boat trip booke so ill report back how that goes.
