So last time I wrote I'd just done the 14km treck in Sa Pa with the tribes people and that was one of my favourite days in Vietnam. The air was so clean and lovely in the mountains, completely different from the busy city Hanoi. Later that day we'd enjoyed lots of Bia Hoi at about 15p a pint and ate BBQ meats on the side of the street, it was delish.

The next day me and Rob went on a second treck and got to see inside the tribes people's home. They make their own clothes, usually about 10people live in the house, and there was just one room for everyone to live in, with a stove in the middle. They think that the smokier the house is, the luckier it is. It was an eye opener to see how they live. They also told us that if you want to get married you have to pay for your wife, and then live with her family for two years. On the treck we saw really young children of about 3yrs old working on the hillside - not that they looked badly done to, it was just their way of life.

Anyway... after Sa Pa we had one more night in Hanoi before flying to Hoi An for some much missed Sun. We enjoyed the best ice cream at Fannys (cant wait to tag you in that Arron) and watched a water puppet show.

And then came the Sun!! There was not a lot to do in Hoi An apart from have clothes made. There were loads of tailors on every street. I kinda wish id had something made but couldn't pick what I wanted. We spent a few days on the beach and by the pool. Just had a rest from our travelling and defrosted from being cold the last two weeks. We also were really pleased that the food finally started getting good now that we'd come further south and were pleased to eat as much as possible. We also went to a beach bar for Sam's birthday which was fun, as before that we werent sure where to go and it seemed most of the bars closed at 12. It was 5am on the way back from the beach bar and people were up doing excersises on the street which we enjoyed copying in our drunken state :)

Next to Hue! We had a few days booked in Hue and went to see the citadel and pagodas. Me and rach took a boat trip to one of the pagodas and were entertained by the cutest kid ever! The family lived on the boat and you could tell he loved showing off to some new people. It was far too hot that day and we were happy to slob out in an air con room after that. The next day it was chucking it down and we took the 17hour sleeping bus to Nah Trang. It was well strange how close they get you to sleep together. I had this girl next to me and she kept spitting into her fingers and rubbing it into her bites - nice.

When we got to Nah Trang we went to the beach and it started raining again. Nah Trang was a great place to drink and we cracked open some snake wine that we'd been carrying round for a long while. OMG it was so strong. We could only have a few sips and it was making us feel sick (I only had one shot). And then enjoyed seeing how many people we could get to drink it. Rachel also managed to get some people to eat the scorpian that was inside it. It was a good laugh that night and then the next day we got the coach hung over which brings us to Da Lat.

We've been to see the Crazy House today and on a cable car. We've been looking for a while for a decent easy rider trip where you go on the back of motorbikes for the day and the guide takes you through the best scenery and for local foods. We have booked it through our hotel as the tour guide here speaks the local language and he is taking us on a treck tomorrow, I can't wait!!!!
