Lombok is basically just mountains with shacks and towns built within. It is a lot poorer than the other places we have been. Arrived at same same bungalows in Kuta Lombok 4pm Sunday. Gili T - arrived in Gili Trawangan by boat from Padang in Bali. First thoughts - looks like a tropical paradise. The Gili's are a group of 3 island between Bali and Lombok. Thursday we travelled to Ubud. This was a whirlwind day with so much going on. Kirstie finally got her backpack from the airport after 4 days! We got in the cramped mini bus and took a 2hour ride from Bali to Ubud. As you arrive in Ubud you instantly recognise how calm and peaceful it is compared to Kuta.
