Hi All,
The start of our China experience has started of well apart from we didn't like Beijing airport - big and confusing with long queues. Arrived in Shanghai on time! Whilst getting a taxi saw the tallest woman we've ever seen then had the crazy ride to the hotel.
Stayed at Salvo hotel and it was very nice, we had a twin room with separate living area and spa bath. Everything in the room was traditional Chinese style (felt like we had gone back in time) Sockets are found when you lift up a gold plate in the floor!!
As we got there late we didn't do much that first night just walked to The Bund for a selfie with the shanghai skyline. Bed.
Got up early next morning feeling very tired and jet lagged. Did all the sight seeing - went to people's square, boat cruise on the river, lunch in the financial district and yu garden. Had some street food which was really nice, couldn't tell you what it was though!
Discovered some interesting things whilst out that day, like... red lights don't mean anything, Chinese tourists run everywhere, they put sugar in everything, most of them chain smoke, you don't leave tip because they don't understand it, and taxis are cheap!
Last night we went on the shanghai bar crawl, all I can say is - free 1hr bar and shots!! :) good night indeed.
Traveling to Fuzhou today will post again soon
Love to all
