Sorry, I haven't written, but I've been sick and barley able to get to work. I've had a major head and chest cold. When I wasn't at work I was sleeping it off or just resting and watching movies. I'm off this weekend with Brandon to the draq races in Pomona. I'll write next week. Love, Dad

travel update: I found a private airport shuttle service - they pick you up at the gate and take you anywhere in Paris that you want to go. Looks better than the option through the school, and o yeah....it only costs $40:) That's a lot better than $100.

Hey guys, I am alive again:) I feel a lot better, thank God it was a short lived thing! I just bought my airplane ticket to Paris! Aaahhh! I am so glad I got that out of the way. The ticket and travel to the airport came out to about $100. (Not too bad.) Now I just have to figure out how I want to get from the airport to the house with all my stuff:) I have the option of a transfer service through the school, but that costs almost $100. I don't know if the convinience makes the cost worth it. I'm praying about it. Pray that God I gives me wisdom as I make these plans - it's all a little too big for me!
Thanks for all your prayers, I feel a lot better today, physically and emotionaly. I was stressing out a little over all the stuff that I have to do, but God is by my side and I know that everything will work out in his way and I am grateful for that. The seasons have changed here and it has grown cold, but the sun is shining today. Both outside my window and inside my heart:)
Love, Mikahla
P.S. Thanks mom and dad for the call, it made all the difference!

I'm praying for you and hope you feel well soon!!!!!!!!!! We had a great time with our friday night group last night. We had a guest speak to us about his ministry to Nigeria. He speaks 11 languages. I wished you could have been there. He thinks somewhat like you. He spoke to us in Csinginin (spelling???) one of the three main languages spoke in Nigeria. In addition to that they have several dialects. He has a Phd. in linguistics.
After the group we met with Joselph Carlson's parents, Trudy and Donavan at Coffee Cat. It was great to connect with them again.
We always enjoy being with them. Her parents are aging and she could really relate to Mom's struggles with this process. I remember how hard it was at times to watch my parents age. There were some great times of being with them during that time also. I think it will go better for us, cause we have pretty good open lines of communication with our children.
Maybe my ADHD will be a problem, but "oh well!!!!"
I had a great time on the phone with Roger Bergman. Pray for Amanda and their decisions for her future good health. Roger told me about a t-shirt for ADHD people. I can't wait to get one. It says on the front: "They say I have ADHD, buy what do they know!!!"
"Did you see that chicken!!!!!!!!!!!" Mom says mine should say, "Did you see that motor cycle!!!!!!!!!!"
Well, I love you and I know I haven't sent much lately, but I've been real busy. Let's talk tommorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mom & Dad
We love you and will be praying.
We want to go to you and put our arms around you and give you hugs. We know that God is great and able to care for you.
If you are on line Sunday, we will call.
Lots of love, Your parents

Hey guys, its friday night and I am dead. I have been home sick all day. My stomach is killing me and I haven't been able to do anything all night or all day. I can't sleep, eat, I can't even read or watch tv because the pain is so distracting! Pray for me if you get a chance that this would pass. Thank the Lord that it is better now than it was this morning though! I have actually gotten up and came to my computer to write this note so that's good:) It is stressing me out a bit that I am wasting presious time being sick. I wish I had more time here. I have become really comfortable here(well not today:) and the move also makes me nervous because I am not sure exactly how it will go. Pray that I get it al figured out soon so that I can relax and enjoy my last few weeks here.
thank you for your prayers!
Love, Mikahla

THis is a message sent from Aunt Rosalie. I think it is great to know that the family is following your notes on your trip.
> Dear Kahleen,
> It sounds like she is having a good time, and I'm impressed at the amount of time she has for sharing her experiences.
> Jeff and Sheila are on a dive trip to Micronesia - Palou & Yap. They return Nov. 12.
> I'm glad for Ethelyn to have her electric wheel chair. I hope she has no serious accident. She seems really happy to get about. Too bad her shoulders are so sore. What to do about that? An operation seems extreme, but if she is in constant pain it may be needed. However, Wayne had that operation and I guess it was an awful recovery. I think she should check with Wayne before she decides.
> When Kahla gets to Paris, the metro is really easy, and she should have no trouble getting about. Again, advise her to get a tourist book on Paris - it will help her a lot.
> Stay well - love, Rosalie

Hi Kahleen,
I am really glad to hear that Mikahla is enjoying her stay. I got to look through her blog on the website, and it is so wonderful to know she loved it there. I have been to Barcelona couple of times myself and absolutely am amazed by that city and country in general!!!!
As for the Paris location, below please find the email that my colleague Stephanie has sent to you on October 26th. Attached you will also find the Paris Emergency phone numbers for her. As for the transportation information, I would recommend Mikahla to contact the Host family directly and get all the necessary transportation details. Should she have any issues in the future with anything program related when she is there (Academics, Host family, sightseeing advice), she should feel free to speak with our school staff in Paris.
I wish her a safe trip on her new destination adventures!!!!!

Subject: FW: Host Family for Paris
I hope youre enjoying your time in Barcelona! I have your host family information for your program in Paris (see below). (Im emailing it to each of these addresses, just to make sure it gets to you, one way or another.) Ive also attached a list of emergency numbers for you to use during your time in Paris.
Madame Vitelius
7 Rue Carriere Belleuse
Paris 75015
France
Madame Vitelius lives in a 75 sq meter flat in the 18th 'arrondissiment.' The flat is made up of 3 rooms, and the bedroom she has for the students is 17 sq. meters, which has two seperate beds, and a common bathroom.
She lives wtih her 7 year old son, and speaks a little bit of English. She, and her son, very much look forward to your arrival!
Please take the time to contact your host family before arrival in Paris.
Please let me know if you need anything else from us! In the meantime, bon voyage!
Thanks mom so much for all the help, I am a little lost in all of this. My host family says it should be easy enough to take the bus to the airport with all of my suitcases and stuff as long as I don't go during rush hours. How to get to the house in Paris (wherever it is) from the airport is a different story. Maybe I will ask if EF could arrange an airport pick up for me like last time. That would be a whole lot easier and probably not anymore expensive than a taxi, probably cheaper actually. I'll check it out. So you already sent a note to that lady asking for help on the flights? Or should I send one now?
-Love Kahla
