So we eventually made it to St Anton after a 4 hour journey took 7 being stuck stationary on the autobahn. We sat for ages until deciding to do as the locals do and head down the hard shoulder. We ended up taking a scenic route that my grandad would be very proud of up and down several valleys still seeing people not moving and slightly chuckling to ourselves. The van just about makes it up the hills with only a small trail of cara following behind but the Germans over take at every opportunity they don't stay behind for long. Arriving at 7pm was dark and quite difficult to see what was going on so found dads hotel and parked in the nearest car park. As I took the dogs out for a pee I saw a shadow running ish slowly towards me and there dad was just having got off the bus so pretty good timing really even if it has taken them the same time to get here from gatwick as it did us.
Been in St Anton for 2 days and haven't skied yet. Yesterday was love weather but not much snow about and today the weather is pretty cloudy but with snow. Yay
Anyway Should be good skiing tomorrow.
Surprisingly nice and relaxing at a resort and not skiing but really looking forward to it tomorrow, + luxury showers at dad and Lynette hotel.
After taking the dogs up in the gondola to 2500m to play in the snow we then sat and had a few gluhwines which at high altitude gets you pissed fairly quickly so Lynette found out.
We took them indoor rock climbing and for quite a hard wall they both did very well. Lynette made it half way and dad made the full 30m. Maybe Duncan does get it from somewhere.
Yet another amazing meal at the hotel, a few drinks then bed.
