Saturday 5th April Now were not writing much for this one as we need to catch up a little bit as were about a month behind and we don't want to bore you with who we met!!! So after some breakfast at the hotel we took the short 4 block walk entrance to the Disney parks one being Disneyland (the original one) and California adventure. We exchanged another page from our theme park book for a 3 day hopper pass. We decided to head in to the main park which in many respects is a lot like the Disneyland in Paris except the castle in California one is a bit poo (as you'll see when we get the pictures on ). We managed to get on a few rides fairly quick and meet some of the characters who were out and about. We went on the buzz light-year blasters game, the alpine mountain ride and the runaway mine train to name but a few. The good thing was the fast past tickets were you pop your hopper pass in and it gives you a time to come back.
We watched the parade which was fun and we got a really good spot the parade floats as usual where amazing the lion king one stuck out it had ribbons dangling down and people spinning on them a little bit like cirque de souil. We then spent the time later when the second parade was on getting on a few more rides, grabbing some quintessential American food in the form of hot dogs and pretzels. Now the one thing that was cool is that the park stays open till midnight, I think we managed till about 11ish before we headed back exhausted from the hot day and having so much fun.
Sunday 6th April
As part of the hopper pass you get a 'magic morning' included which means you can get into the park like an hour or two before everyone else. So we ran around getting on the rides which normally have 2 hour queues first up was the finding nemo ride which is a cool submarine ride under proper water with all the fun characters out of the film. We did the cheesy rides next like the storybook land, peter pan, and Pinocchio tales. Finally got Corinne on the crazy big log flume and got only a little bit wet. By about 9.30am the park was getting a little busier and it was time to head for the California adventure park which was amazing.
We went on the monsters inc. ride which is a bit of a kiddies ride but hey it aloud its Disneyland, next was the Muppets 3-D show which was awesome and then was bugs life land were we went on the dodgiest bumper cars ever which went about 2 mph. After a go on the tower of terror (wolfie on his own) We went on soaring over California a motion master (the best one we've ever been on) your strapped in to a gilder like chair and raised up in front of a giant cinema screen, flying over various amazing views of the Californian countryside and coastline along the way you can smell the sea, the trees and famous orange groves.
Just around the corner was the river rapids o which we got drenched and being wet was a good time for some lunch. After which we went on some smaller coasters before wolfie went on the California screamer which was well cool!!!!!!! Corinne then decided that she was feeling brave so we got some fast passes for the tower of terror by which time it was getting around 9pmish and so we headed back and got some Chinese take out, catching a movie ad getting some sleep.
Monday 7th April
After checking out we went back to the parks and finished off a few more bits Corinne was feeling even braver than the previous day and even went on the California screamer which is great because she normally doesn't like stuff like that. We went on the river rapids ride and got even wetter than the previous day as the water geyser went off when were right next to it. A turkey leg and a drawing of grumpy later we were back in the car and on the way to LA the city of angels. So after a pretty unimaginative ride (well not to say that Corinne saw the Hollywood sign) and a bit of messing between 2 hostels we finally booked into the banana bungalow in Hollywood our home for the next few nights. We parked the car in the garage and got ourselves settled before getting some internet time in for boring stuff like banking and booking our Alcatraz tour for San Francisco.
